D.I.Y. Minimal Wrap Top for Spring 2017

Is it just me or when you have a special event to attend, you feel as if someone has robbed your closet. I mean, you have nothing to wear. I used to just run into Forever21 or H&M the night before and find a cute outfit for events. Now that I am on a minimalism journey, I am forced to be more resourceful and intentional about the clothes that already lives in my closet.

I knew I wanted to wear trousers but I couldn't find a top. My friend, Hikari, calmly responded to my frantic texts "girl, does this look weird?!" "Too plain?" to her the night before. She has one of the best style's I've seen in a long time. I never, ever have seen her have a "bad outfit" (no, seriously, we work together so I see her daily). She mentioned my dress that I posted on Instagram  and I decided to D.I.Y. it into a wrap top.

Wrap Tops for Spring 2017

Last December, I thrifted this midi dress and loved how oversized it was. But, I felt like I could only wear it one way. To transform this dress into a top, I simply I cut, frayed, and created a belt for. Crazy, right?! I'm loving now how versatile this top is and still gives me the oversized vibes without drowning my body. Also, I have the choice to belt it to highlight my curves. Cheers for multi-use tops.

Immediately, I hopped on my Insta-Story to share the goodies from The Seattle Style Summit swag bag. I had to throw on Julep's Tined Lip Oil Treatment in the color Obsessed to heal my lips from chatting all morning. I love how moisturizing this is and light weight this is. It doesn't leave your lips greasy, which can be gross and unbearable. It paired perfectly with my blush and complemented the warm tones from my DIY minimal wrap top.
