It's below 40 degrees in Seattle and it definitely important to start layering up. I love outwear and you can always catch me wearing a black, leather jacket with silver hardware. I've owned cheaper ones from H&M and the lining always ripped or the hardware rusted. After throwing away over $150 in low-quality leather jackets, I decided to invest in the AllSaints Balfern Leather Jacket (US size 10).

1) It's a Multi-functional Wardrobe Essential

I'm not just teasing you with big words formulated into fancy phrases. A leather jacket truly can be styled two in main ways: casual and dressy. You need a leather jacket to cover up dress up that band tee or accentuate your waste in that metallic midi skirt. My favorite way to style a biker jacket is with a white button down and black denim. You shouldn't buy a jacket that will sit within the depths of your closet like that high school prom dress you spent $200 and wore once. Oh, I guess that was just me.

2) It Will NEVER Go Out of Style

Leather Jackets are timeless pieces that have been around since the early '50s and are still here today. They look good on everybody type, every outfit (yes, even leather on leather), and every occasion. When I worked at AllSaints, a gorgeous petite woman came in saying she wanted a leather jacket to go with her wedding dress. Can you believe it?! Well, she was obsessed with mine, the Balfern, so I let her try it on and she loved it! Let's just say no matter the occasion, everyone needs a biker jacket.

3) They Actually Keep You Warm in Cold Weather

I bet some of you are thinking, "how could I possibly wear that in the winter? It's freezing!" Honestly, there are quite a few tricks that will have you feeling toasty while wearing this jacket. Always add a wool knit or warmer fabrics underneath that will help retain heat. You need a leather jacket for winter because it makes layering 2-3 pieces easy.
